Xu Ming, a graduate student in history, and Lin Yuqing, an architectural designer, accept a mysterious invitation to the century-old haunted house Songwu Residence, only to be drawn into a vortex of forbidden Nuo shamanic arts spanning three centuries. As the bronze Nuo mask devours the first glimmer of moonlight, and the ouroboros door knocker bites down on the final scream, this living building, which has swallowed 127 lives, awaits its 128th sacrifice to complete the formation of eternal life. Moving between Republican-era secret rooms and quantum tunnels, they gradually discover that the most terrifying thing is not being haunted by vengeful spirits, but becoming an indispensable link in the chain of the curse.
