"Old Book of Tang" is an official history compiled by officials during the Five Dynasties and later Jin Dynasty. It was compiled under the leadership of Liu Yu and others and was completed in 945. The book has a total of 200 volumes, including 20 volumes of chronicles, 30 volumes of chronicles, and 150 volumes of biographies. It is mainly compiled based on original documents such as Tang Dynasty records and national history. It records in detail the political, economic, cultural and social conditions of the 289 years of the Tang Dynasty (618-907). Because it was written earlier, it has preserved a large amount of original historical materials of the Tang Dynasty and has detailed narratives, especially the content before the An-Shi Rebellion is the most abundant and reliable. Although its status declined due to the publication of "New Book of Tang" in the Northern Song Dynasty, its originality is still an important basis for studying Tang history. The Qing Dynasty is listed as one of the "Twenty-Four Histories" and has irreplaceable historical value.
