A User Manual for Skin Objects

“Aaaah! There's a ghost!!!”

The girl's scream nearly shattered my spirit, but the rich fear essence that followed made me shiver with delight. Ah! Such purity! Such intensity! That's at least level-three fear! I greedily gulped it down, and even my body became more solid.

“Don't be scared, don't be scared,” I said kindly. “I'm just borrowing your skin for a few days, I promise...”

Before I could finish, the girl's eyes rolled back and she fainted. Feeling guilty, I arranged her in a comfortable position, then peeled off her skin. The professional term is “painless skinning.” All of us in the Skinning Department are certified before we start work.

Wearing my new skin, I twirled in front of the mirror. My, my, this girl is Lin Xiaomeng, a minor internet celebrity with barely any followers. She was about to quit because nobody watched her livestreams. What a great identity! No one will look into her too closely, and she can meet all sorts of people.
