Madly Entangled Beneath the Crabapple Tree

I started reading it because the setting and plot characters of this book were more in line with my thoughts. But halfway through, I felt that the writing was a bit lacking, and the plot was a bit strange and occasionally a bit awkward. But I thought I was almost done, so I would continue reading.
