An ancient text says: “Swallow a golden elixir, and you will know that your fate is no longer in Heaven's hands.”
The so-called golden elixir is not an ordinary pill made by refining herbs, but the innate “spiritual elixir” inherent in everyone. Yet without tempering in the true fire, it must turn from yang to yin and fall into the postnatal realm.
The Way of the Elixir is the wisdom of the ancient sages of Chinese Daoism, and the path to becoming a sage or an immortal. Yet its metaphors are numerous and obscure, and without a true master's oral instruction, it is exceedingly difficult to understand.
In the late Eastern Han dynasty, the Perfected Wei Boyang brought together the Book of Changes, the teachings of Huang-Lao, and the art of alchemy to write the Cantong Qi, giving birth to the Great Way of the Golden Elixir.
Wei Boyang, whose original name was Wei Ao, was born during the reign of Emperor Huan of the Eastern Han dynasty. From childhood, he was devoted to studying the Daoist arts and had no interest in fame or official rank. Influenced by Confucian and Daoist thought, he gradually became a sage who understood the Great Way.
This novel recounts the legendary life of Wei Boyang, and also serves as a textbook that lifts the veil of mystery surrounding the Way of the Elixir. This is not a wish-fulfillment novel, but simply a book devoted to cultivation.
Though the Way of the Elixir may seem complex, in truth it is simple and direct. Those who understand it can ascend straight to sagehood and instantly cross to the other shore.
I have read all three books written by the author, "The Great Way to the Simple" about Laozi, "The Legend of Zhuangzi" about Zhuangzi, and then "The Ancestor of Alchemy" about Wei Ao. They are all very good books. I suggest you be patient when reading them. I am already on the road, come here to fulfill my wish, and thank the author for his good intentions in explaining the Book of Changes and Hetu Luoshu.
I thought it was a novel from the name, so I didn't read it directly. When I read it later, I found that it is still in the same vein. Like the previous two books, it is a book on spiritual cultivation. It's also rare that the author, who must have adhered to the Taoism, actually explained so sincerely that he hopes everyone will return to the Taoism. Thank you very much for the author's willingness to take such pains to promote and persuade. The middle part of the book is about the explanation of the Book of Changes. I am currently studying. As the author said, don't be greedy for more and gain speed. Take it one day at a time. I don't know where to take notes. I happen to have Master Ni's Tianji to compare it with. I found that the 10 hexagrams I studied are all similar but some are easier to understand.
It is said that there are 4 vehicles in the way of alchemy. The first vehicle is taught by Huang Lao, the second vehicle is the golden elixir path, and the remaining two vehicles cannot be liberated? Is the Yang Shen of Alchemy the mind-born body transformed from manas consciousness? And what Alchemy says is that fire is the power of concentration, and the medicine of the alchemy furnace should be quiet and inactive.
I have listened to every book several times. It is a very good spiritual practice book, full of positive energy. Thank you very much🙏🙏🙏
I like the books written by the author, and I benefit a lot from every book 👍
It's so beautiful. The decomposition of this Qian Gua is incomparable.
Why don't you continue to update? Where has the author gone? Update soon 🙂
