New poetry refers to vernacular poetry since the May 4th Movement. The book selects nearly 100 new poems by more than 60 poets. Among them, some have been tested in practice and have become famous early, such as Liu Bannong's "Teach Me How to Miss Her", Dai Wangshu's "Rain Alley", and Bei Dao's "Reply"; some are short and easy to recite, such as Lu Li's "Soil", Tian "If We Don't Go to War" and "Motherland" by Li Qinglian; some editors were lucky enough to read and understand some of them, such as "The Man Who Walks Too Fast" by Li Yuansheng, "Funeral" by Cao Dong, and "Wheat on the Threshing Floor" by Yu Xiuhua. Compared with old-style poetry, new poetry goes deeper into the details of life, pays more attention to the depth of thinking, is lively, open, and has everything you need. The editor comments on each poem in concise and unique language, which helps to improve the readers' poetry appreciation level and traditional cultural accomplishment.
