People call them "ghouls" because they blend in among the crowd and eat human flesh. They have the appearance of humans but exist opposite to humans.
Ghouls feed on humans, humans fight against ghouls to protect their own safety, and the two creatures plunder and kill each other.
It should have been the duty of the two strongest investigators of the CCG to expel the ghouls, but they hated killing and the constant plundering of themselves. They wanted to leave something behind in this world, so they joined forces with the One-Eyed Owl to plan to create a one-eyed king.
Legend has it that only the emergence of the One-Eyed King can end this twisted world
"One-eyed King" is not only the title of the peak of power, but also a spiritual symbol:
It proves that humans and ghouls are not eternally opposed, and that integration and understanding are the way to survive.
The real "king" is not a ruler, but a martyr who bears the sins for his ideals.
