The protagonist Chen Mo is delivering takeout and is soaked by a heavy rain, and discovers that his wife Su Qing is having a secret meeting with Zhang Kai, a second-generation rich man, in a hotel.
Su Qing was humiliated in person: "You are a low-level loser who can't even make enough money for baby milk powder!"
Su Qing transferred the marital property and collaborated with Zhang Kai to forge debts so that Chen Mo could leave the house.
Chen Mo's mother was expelled by the urban management to raise money to set up a stall. She had a heart attack and died from an operation without money (the family knife strengthens hatred).
