Journey to the West: Reverse Stories About Journey to the West

What would it look like if we read the story of Journey to the West backwards? The four Tang monks set out from Lingshan in high spirits, but encountered various obstacles from hostile forces in Hezhou, Xiniu. When I arrived at Nanzhan Buzhou, I was getting further and further away from Lingshan Mountain, but I found that there were fewer and fewer monsters and the city was getting more and more prosperous. But just when the merits of preaching the scriptures were about to be completed, Lingshan took action against the four people. Monk Sha was thrown into the Liusha River (also called Liusha River, meaning the river where Monk Sha was left) because he improperly protected the scriptures. Zhu Bajie was disheartened and chose to return to secular life and stay in Gao Laozhuang. Sun Wukong and Tang Seng decided to continue completing the mission, but Tathagata and Guanyin wanted to take the credit. Sun Wukong tried to protect Tang Seng, but was defeated by one enemy and was crushed at the foot of the Five Elements Mountain. Tang Seng came to the Eastern Land of the Tang Dynasty after untold hardships, but his credit was taken away by Guanyin. Tang Monk originally wanted to overturn the table, but Guanyin threatened Sun Wukong's life, so he could only stay in the east to teach scriptures, slowly accumulate merit, and plan to save Sun Wukong from the mountain. But later Tang Seng discovered that saving Wukong was just a joke. No matter how much he accumulated merit, it was impossible for him. So Tang Seng sacrificed all his magic power and abandoned his immortal body to save Sun Wukong from the mountain.
