Bungo Stray Dogs: The Detective Methods of a Certain Green-Eyed Cat

[Case-of-the-Week Mysteries, Slow-Burn and Everyday Life]

The people of Yokohama recently noticed that the great detective Ranpo had a new girl by his side. One was chatty, the other as calm as still water, but they shared two traits: youthful faces and a love of food.

The Kanto police recently realized that if Mr. Edogawa had already made them look useless, adding Miss Imai to the mix made things even worse. She had barely arrived at a scene before deducing the culprit’s next move.

Criminals across Japan recently discovered that the detective duo with their innocent-looking faces was a real handful. They were so terrifyingly perceptive, it was as if they could see right into your heart.

The two protagonists being discussed:

“Chizuru!” Edogawa Ranpo called from behind her, sounding as lazy as ever. “A new shaved ice shop just opened in the shopping district. Let’s go!”

Imai Chizuru didn’t look back. She calmly placed a piece on the crisscrossing board.

“No. The line’s too long.”

“Aw, you ‘saw’ it again. You’re no fun.” Ranpo squeezed in beside Chizuru.

“Stop playing Go and come read the latest issue of the boys’ manga with me!” The black-haired, green-eyed kitty rubbed against her and showed off his warm, soft belly.

Chizuru hesitated for a moment, but couldn’t resist the kitten’s belly. She reached out with her wicked hands. “All right, then.”

Ranpo cheered, swept the Go board off the table, fetched two bottles of chilled orange soda, and reverently spread the manga out before them.

Two fluffy heads leaned together, and beads of water covered the soda bottles.

“Of course you should spend a pleasant summer afternoon with someone you love.”

That was the detective’s creed that one green-eyed cat had always followed with complete confidence.
