The story follows the last scene of the TV series finale, focusing on the new crisis surging under the palace gate. The "dead" characters Skylark and Snow Master in the original play were both resurrected by special secret techniques, and the triple identity of the ultimate villain Mingwuji (the widow of Gongmen in the original play) gradually emerged - she is both the Wuming assassin and a survivor of the "immortality experiment" a hundred years ago. She manipulates the disputes in the world just to restart the forbidden magic of immortality.
