The Edge of Calamity in Southern Tang

When history books become a cage and ink turns into blades, beneath the thirty-eight prefectures of Southern Tang lies the most insidious curse of Emperor Liezu Li Bian: the realm is split apart, and three souls are bound to a malignant force. Li Jing cannot sever Xu Wen’s thousand-year-old witchcraft with his gold-inlaid saber, and Li Yu’s poem “The Beautiful Lady Yu” cannot capture the full fury of Zhao Kuangyin’s arrow storm of poetic soldiers.

Chengxin Hall paper devours souls to forge blades, while the strings of the Nine Heavens Jade Pendant snap into a curse. Zhou Ehuang feeds blood to the celestial board in exchange for ten more years of life; Zhou Nüying’s snow-white hair blankets the land as she completes the unfinished half of a song of lament. In Han Xizai’s Night Revels, Khitan wolf cavalry shatter the barriers of poetic meters. Within the occult bureau of Bianliang, the Ancestral Emperor’s Instructions are carving Southern Tang’s literary legacy into a sacrificial offering.

Forty years of blood and tears for family and country congeal into a single line: “I cannot bear to look back on my homeland.” Beneath the moon atop Jinling’s walls, the Poet Emperor’s brush cuts open the realm: poetic meters become deadly weapons, feasts conceal mechanized killing formations, ink strokes bind souls, and white hair suppresses the nation’s grief. As blood-red poppies bloom, who still remembers the truth erased by history? The so-called Mandate of Heaven is nothing more than a poisonous curse fed by the obsessions of the human heart.
