Tracking the Gu Shadow

At the autopsy table of a bizarre corpse, forensic pathologist Lin Wei discovers a terrifying secret that will change her life: the black writhing creature that crawls out of the dead person's body is neither a parasite nor any known organism. As similar cases continue to emerge, Lin Wei joins forces with criminal investigation captain Jiang Lingchuan to investigate, embarking on a dangerous journey to uncover the secrets of ancient gu techniques.

Following the clues, they venture deep into the mysterious mountain regions of Miao territory, only to find themselves in danger in an ancient village. Lin Wei is shocked to realize that the birthmark on her wrist, a blue mark she has ignored since childhood, is proof of the legendary "gu master constitution." At the brink of life and death, the power of the Water Gu King slumbering within her awakens, and this is only the beginning of the truth.

As gu poison begins to spread around the world unnoticed, a covert war that will decide the fate of humanity has already begun. Lin Wei must find balance between her increasingly uncontrollable abilities and her fading humanity, all while fighting the dark forces coveting the power of gu. On this journey through modern cities and ancient legends, she discovers that fate chose her long ago to become the legendary "Balancer of the Five Elements."

From the forensic center to Ghost Mist Island, from hearts and blood merging to all gu returning as one, the fates of Lin Wei and Jiang Lingchuan are bound together forever through the merging of their souls. When the ultimate truth is revealed, Lin Wei must make a choice: surrender to the powerful nature of gu, or seek true balance through the power of the Five Elements?

Gu Shadow Pursuit combines mystery and investigation, supernatural horror, and Eastern fantasy to create a unique world where modern science and ancient gu arts intertwine. Here, the truth is often hidden in the darkest depths, and true power has never been about conquest, but balance.
