Reborn: Causing Trouble in Elementary School
A corporate drone dies in bizarre circumstances and is reborn as a struggling third-grader. He thinks he is about to start life over amid endless schoolwork, but instead finds himself swept up in one absurd, hilarious adventure after another.
After being struck by a grandfather clock in an antique clock shop, the protagonist wakes up caught in a strange time loop: reborn, back in the old days, and living a new life. Whenever the clock strikes midnight, fluctuations in a special magnetic field bring one "surprise" after another into his life. With an adult's way of thinking trapped in a child's body, he stumbles into a string of awkward mishaps. He uses calculus to solve a problem about chickens and rabbits and gets mistaken for a lunatic, then tries to imitate a child's voice until his face starts twitching. It's impossible not to laugh.
Even more bizarrely, after being reborn, he acquires "reverse mind reading." He can't hear what people are really thinking, only their most shameful secrets. For instance, the homeroom teacher has a crush on the leader of a square-dancing group, while the school nurse pretends to sprain an ankle so she can visit the infirmary and find a date. Using this strange ability, he blackmails the school bully into handing over spicy strips, only to be misunderstood as having a crush on the bully's older sister, setting off a storm of laughter around campus.
To change his fate as the school's "bottom of the class," he forms the "Troublemaker Task Force." Using adult tactics, they take the school flea market by storm. He also bribes the dean's grandson with rainbow candy to get exam tips, setting off on an unconventional path to turn his fortunes around. But as he investigates the secret of his rebirth, he discovers that the clock on the classroom wall is the same model as the grandfather clock that caused his rebirth. During math class, its second hand jumps backward three ticks, hinting at a hidden point of temporal distortion.
After that, the mystery hidden in the antique clock in the principal's office,
