[This is just a practice piece. Please don't read it.]
Without the skin, a person is nothing but 206 bones, flesh, filth, hair, and guts. Dressed in fine clothes, they may seem to possess ten thousand charms. I read people's hearts in life, and gaze upon their bones in death. Seeing a beauty as a skeleton leaves me without desire; seeing a skeleton as a person leaves me without fear. Free of desire and fear, one can see all living beings as they are. All forms are illusory, and what has form may also be formless. No self, no person, no living beings, no lifespan: powdered beauty and painted skin are all flesh over bone.
All appearances are not appearances. Everything that appears is illusory.
All living beings suffer in countless ways. I will help them cross to the other shore.
Watch as this "different" young man breaks through the immortal path and rises to the peak.
Bearing "formlessness," he makes loneliness his companion.
In this vast world, all living beings abound.
When darkness falls, who can become the light that saves all creation?
Fellow Daoists,
