Twenty years ago, at Taicang Mountain, the Immortal Sect's selection ceremony.
Three beams of spiritual light burst from the Immortal Stone, illuminating all of Taicang Mountain.
“This is unbelievable! Have you heard? This year's selection produced someone with three spiritual roots! I think... what was his name, Gu something?”
Ten years ago, the Taicang Immortal Venerable went into seclusion and passed the title to his final disciple.
“This is unbelievable! Have you heard? Immortal Venerable Ye is going into seclusion and passing the title to his third disciple! Was his name... Gu Qingxuan?”
One month ago, at the Demon-Slaying Platform, the shockwaves from the Demon Venerable Fentian's battle flattened the edge of the human realm.
“This is terrible! Immortal Venerable Gu sacrificed himself to fight the Demon Venerable and died at the Demon-Slaying Platform!”
At the Taicang Immortal Terrace, the five great elders gaze down at the crowd.
“The Demon Venerable has violated the Peace Treaty and murdered our Taicang Immortal Venerable! I hereby declare the treaty null and void. The immortal and demon realms... are now irreconcilable enemies!”
At the back of the crowd, a disheveled young man rubs his eyes, staring at everything in shock.
“??? Am I the only one in the Three Realms who didn't know I was dead?”
“Come on!!! What am I supposed to do with the strongest cultivation in the Three Realms?”
“Hey----!”
