Journey to the West: System, I Want to Return to Gao Village

“The Buddha decided I should go fetch the scriptures, but going back to Gao Village is my own decision!”

Bajie, a modern man who transmigrates into Zhu Bajie, awakens a golden finger and is forced to embark on the Journey to the West.

“System, I want to go back to Gao Village.”

“No can do~”

“System, I'm going back to Gao Village!”

“No!”

“System...”

“Get lost!”

“System, you!”

“Ding! System quest! Submit ten Ginseng Fruits!”

“Crunch, crunch,” Bajie says, munching on a Ginseng Fruit. “Get lost!”

“Complete the quest to open a time-space passage to Gao Village. You can send one item back and forth with Cuilan every month!”

“Host, you...” The System starts sobbing.

Bajie is shoving a half-eaten Ginseng Fruit into its mouth.

“Is that enough, kid? Is it?”

From then on, Bajie becomes the hardest-working member of the scripture-fetching group.

While the Monkey King fights monsters, he crouches at the cave entrance digging up wild vegetables:

“Cuilan likes cold fern salad. I'll keep it fresh in the System inventory!”

When Tang Sanzang takes a fancy to the Queen of the Women's Kingdom, Bajie takes a fancy to her clothes:

“That pattern suits her. I'll just say I got it while begging for alms!”

When the Buddha asks what title he wants, he pulls out a crumpled letter from home:

“Could you change ‘Pure Altar Messenger’ to ‘Land God of Gao Village’?”
