Mount & Blade II: Shattered and Reborn

After Emperor Arenikos of the Empire died without naming an heir, a power vacuum emerged and the Empire split into three factions:

Northern Empire: Led by Senator Lukon, it advocates restoring the tradition of having the Senate elect the emperor.

Western Empire: Led by General Galios, it wants the army, specifically the veterans, to choose a new emperor.

Southern Empire: Ruled by Empress Ragaia, Arenikos's widow, it claims that her daughter Ila should inherit the throne.

As the Empire fractures and civil war rages, the kingdoms around it rise rapidly.

Sturgia: Located in the northern snowfields, it was formed through the blending of Nord immigrants and the native people. It built its power on the fur trade and military alliances, and its warriors mainly wield battle-axes and wear chain mail.

Vlandia: A feudal nation renowned for its elite heavy cavalry and strong chivalric culture.

Battania: A tribal confederation in the western mountains, skilled in guerrilla warfare and longbow tactics, and reliant on its forests and mountains.

Khuzait: A confederation of nomadic steppe tribes whose core forces are light cavalry and horse archers, known for their flexible tactics.

Aserai: A confederation of oasis tribes in the southern desert, relying on camel cavalry, scimitar-wielding warriors, and the caravan trade.

And rebel forces from across the lands, roaming the continent of Calradia.
