Emperor Arenicus died without naming a successor, resulting in a power vacuum and the empire split into three factions: Northern Empire: Led by Senator Lucon, who advocated the restoration of the tradition of the Senate electing the emperor. Western Empire: Led by General Gallios, it is hoped that the army (veterans) will elect a new emperor. Southern Empire: Ruled by Queen Lagaia, the widow of Arenicos, who claimed that her daughter Ila should succeed to the throne. As the empire was divided and civil war began, the kingdoms surrounding the empire quickly rose to prominence. Sturgia: Located in the northern snowfield, it was formed by the integration of Nord immigrants and indigenous people. It was founded on the fur trade and military alliance, and its equipment is mainly battle axes and chain armor. Vlandia: A feudal country, famous for its elite heavy cavalry and a strong knightly culture. Battania: A tribal alliance in the western mountains, adept at guerrilla and longbow tactics, relying on forests and mountains. Kusait: An alliance of grassland nomadic tribes, with light cavalry and mounted archers as the core, and flexible tactics. Aserai: It is composed of an alliance of oasis tribes in the southern desert. Camel cavalry and scimitar warriors in the desert environment rely on the caravan economy. As well as the rebels from various countries wandering across the continent of Calradia.
