Yin Xiayi and Gong Danjing are celestial immortals who descend to the mortal realm to undergo trials of love. There, they meet one another.
They agree to die together for love, but both independently fake their deaths and live out their days alone, dying of old age.
When they return to Heaven, they no longer recognize each other. They each mistake the other for the mortal lover they once had.
But they have been bitter rivals for tens of thousands of years. Even as they look at each other’s faces, their hearts still flutter, and so they love and fight in equal measure.
Yin Xiayi is fifty thousand years old, the Matchmaker’s favorite pupil, and is in charge of work related to the Matchmaker’s matchmaking duties.
Gong Danjing is one hundred and fifty thousand years old, the Star Lord of Destiny, responsible for overseeing the fates and fortunes of mortals, including their lifespans, blessings, and misfortunes.
