This novel is based on the struggle for hegemony between Chu and Wu. It uses Chu military captain Jiang Qing as the character clue, and combines the stories of historical figures such as King Xiong Ju of Chuping, King Helu of Wu, Wu Zixu, Sun Wu, Zhuanzhu, and Yao Li as the plot. It tells a series of storylines related to the struggle for hegemony between Chu and Wu during the Spring and Autumn Period, including military wars, diplomatic strategies, official battles, assassins, assassinations, hatred between family and country, and debates between scholars.
Jiang Qing changed from the fire general of the Chu State to the assassin leader of the Wu State.
