(Anyone under 18, stop here.) Fox, weasel, white snake, willow, and rat: unite the power of the Five Immortals to forge the Five Immortal Seal!

The twelfth lunar month of 1915, Songliao Plain, Northeast China.

Snow fell without end.

Wang Guan'er wrapped himself in the wolfskin coat his grandfather had sewn and trudged home through snow up to his knees. The fifteen-year-old boy carried a medicine basket filled with freshly gathered herbs called “Ghost's Bane” and “Human-Face Boil.” He had just turned fifteen. He wasn't tall, but his eyes were bright and lively. He was always looking around while gathering herbs, as if he could read stories in the snow.
