His Canary Wants to Escape

[Showbiz + ABO + groveling chase + tragic romance + happy ending]

The popular movie star Shi Zhiyan is passionately pursued by Chi Chengjing, a CEO who has just returned to the country, and agrees to date him.

Chi Chengjing constantly places restrictions on Shi Zhiyan, but Shi Zhiyan assumes it's because he hasn't given the alpha enough reassurance.

He thinks their love goes both ways, until he decides to surprise Chi Chengjing by wrapping up filming early and coming home.

At the door, he overhears Chi Chengjing talking to a friend:

“Chengjing, the old man is pressuring you to get married. Are you planning to bring Shi Zhiyan home?”

“Shi Zhiyan? He's not worthy. He's just a little plaything I keep around for amusement. I've got someone in mind. You used to like him, didn't you? I'll send him your way sometime.”

Shi Zhiyan is struck as if by lightning. It feels like his heart stops beating right then and there.
