The Law of Protection

When the laws that uphold the world collapse and the seals that bind the darkness shatter, where can humanity turn?

High school student Lin Longqiu finds a glowing fragment of amber beside a greasy barbecue stall, but his grandfather doesn’t even seem to notice it. He thinks it is a gift from fate, until the pupils of his first love, Liu Ye, turn into boiling blood and pale claws rip through his school uniform. Only then does he realize he was wrong.

A prisoner of time has returned from the future, having witnessed the laws fall apart.

The “Rift of Time” organization becomes humanity’s last line of defense, but the darkness never stops spreading.

The claws of slaughter breed deadly poison in every street and alley; the shadow of a curse freezes time and space.

The darkness has long been lurking within the light.

In this war with the laws as its chessboard, everything is a pawn.

Shattered gods, the encroachment of eternal night, and illusory salvation.

The darkness has come. The fire of protection burns anew.
