Reborn, My Sister Who Chose to Be a Loyal Servant Is Wailing

My younger sister and I were senior palace maids in Consort Ruan’s household. In my previous life, when Consort Ruan was demoted, she could only take one personal maid with her to the Cold Palace. She told my sister and me to choose: one of us would accompany her to the Cold Palace, while the other would serve Consort Huan, who had once been close to her. In my previous life, my sister went with Consort Huan. But Huan was rash, offended the other consorts, and was framed and killed. Consort Ruan eventually rose again, leaving the Cold Palace and becoming empress. My sister envied my good fortune and came to me in tears, only to turn around and shove me into a deep well. When I opened my eyes again, I was reborn at the moment Consort Ruan was about to enter the Cold Palace. This time, my sister dropped to her knees and clutched Consort Ruan’s leg. “Your Highness, this servant is willing to accompany you to the Cold Palace!” Consort Ruan was pleased by her loyalty, then turned to me. “And you? Would you be willing to serve Consort Huan?” I lowered my eyes to hide my delight and answered without hesitation. “This servant would be honored.”
