Incense 2

"Incense" starts from the rural areas of western Liaoning and tells the life of a woman, Yang Xinhua, who has endured hardships but always persevered to survive in the torrent of the times. In 1970, Yang Xinhua was born in an ordinary farm family in Yangjiatuozi. After her father died young, she shouldered the burden of the family at the age of sixteen. However, she was forced to marry into a neighboring village at the age of nineteen and suffered long-term domestic violence from her husband Yang Meng. In order to escape the abyss, she mustered up the courage to divorce, but was deprived of custody of her daughter and left home with scars all over her body. In the provincial capital, Yang Xinhua experienced the hardships of working at the bottom and exchanged sweat and tears for survival. A turning point in fate occurred when she met two women, Liu Xiaojun and Chen Meng, who had also been hit hard by life. The three of them shared a small house, saved money to learn a craft, and jointly created the "Sanhao Foot Care Center", creating a sky with their hands. However, the sisters were separated (Liu Xiaojun was entangled by her ex-husband and left, and Chen Meng left for marriage), her health collapsed (acute pleurisy caused lung function damage), her emotions were frustrated again (she was cheated by Wu Hao), and successive blows pushed her to a desperate situation. On the verge of life and death, her benefactor An Jingnan, who had always been silently guarding her, pulled her back to the world several times. After recovering from the illness, Yang Xinhua saw through the secular world and placed all his gratitude on the incense in front of the Buddha. He prayed for An Jingnan's family every day and supported the rest of his life with the simplest faith. The story uses delicate strokes to outline a picture of a woman's life that was "stripped out of bones and cocoons" by life under the double crushing pressure of time and fate to tempering her perseverance in suffering. Yang Xinhua's life is the epitome of countless ordinary women "living" in desperate situations - being repeatedly beaten by fate, but always lighting the way forward with their unquenched "incense" (obsession for life and belief in kindness).
