When I started writing this book, I never imagined its tags would be so hard to pin down. The System put it under sports. What I actually wanted to write was this: The story takes place in 2008. The protagonist is a special forces soldier who, while on a mission overseas, accidentally dies at the same time as a soccer player. An alien life-form is living inside the player, and it swaps identities with the protagonist to carry out its hidden agenda. The alien is a sly old fox who coaxes the protagonist into playing soccer, and gives him the strength to crush everyone. The protagonist believes he can never return to his old life, so he resolutely heads back to China and takes up soccer. He figures he should love whatever job he's doing, and aims to make a name for himself on the field first. With the Olympics coming up, he joins the national team. There are none of the dirty dealings at the Chinese Football Association here, because the protagonist has powerful connections and won't let that happen. Of course, this also has to do with a deal between the alien and the government. The alien provides the country with a financial egg to keep safe. Since it's a product of an extraterrestrial civilization, and because of the protagonist's series of stunning performances on the field, the US CIA keeps a close eye on him. That, too, is part of the alien's plan. It isn't until the alien gives the protagonist's mother's company a product that can make people look younger that the US starts making trouble.
That's the story, more or less. If you're interested, feel free to read the main text. This is a practice book, so there are quite a few typos. I was too trigger-happy and marked it complete before I got a chance to edit, so please bear with me.
