Dreams Along the Commune Fields

In 1976, Su He was just a step away from securing a transfer back to the city. But one moment of hesitation cost the educated youth her way home for good.

The boy she rescued on a stormy night, Wang Hai, became the only reason she put down roots in the countryside. Against everyone’s objections, she set out to grow rare cash crops on the barren land. Everyone laughed and called it a pipe dream.

More devastating than the rumors was the sudden natural disaster. Just as all her hard work was about to be destroyed, the boy she had once dragged back from death’s door resolutely stood in front of her.

Could they protect this field of hope together and fulfill their seemingly impossible dream of cultivating the commune’s fields?
