My Wife's Extravagant Honeymoon

When my CEO wife learned that I had willingly handed a million-dollar project to the junior assistant she doted on, she thought the three months of giving me the cold shoulder had worked.

Beaming, she took the initiative and suggested we go to Iceland for our honeymoon.

But when the junior assistant found out, he flew into a jealous rage and threatened to quit the company.

His ever-indulgent wife panicked. After coaxing him for three days and three nights, she used a business trip as an excuse to ditch our honeymoon again and gave him the other ticket.

Afterward, she explained it to me nonchalantly.

"Love and romance are trivial things. Work matters most. As the boss, I have to put work first."

"You're my husband. You should understand, right?"

I looked at the junior assistant's latest social media post on my phone, a couple's photo of them touching heads and making finger hearts. I said nothing and simply nodded.

My wife thought I had become generous and understanding. Quite pleased, she promised to make it up to me with an even more romantic honeymoon after she returned home.

But she didn't know.

I had already submitted my resignation, and she had already signed the divorce papers.

There would never be an us again.
