Huo Yun got drunk and seduced her childhood friend’s younger brother, who had just turned eighteen.

When news broke that Xie Linchuan, young master of Yangcheng’s most powerful Xie Group, was working as a model for a magazine, the whole city was in an uproar. Someone also leaked intimate photos of him with Huo Yun, his direct supervisor, and people mocked her, calling her a schemer.

The pair went live to set the record straight. Their stunning faces turned toward each other with a smile, and they said in unison, “We’re childhood friends and business partners. Please don’t jump to conclusions.”

Faced with a choice between her future and Xie Linchuan, Huo Yun resolutely chose the former.

Realizing he was about to be abandoned, Xie Linchuan knocked on Huo Yun’s door on a stormy night. In a flash of lightning, beneath the young man’s soaked white shirt was a black collar.

He offered her a leather leash, his eyes rimmed red, and deliberately tempted her. “Sister, please keep me on a tight leash.”

Early summer came around again the next year. In Cannes, France, beneath a blazing sunset, Huo Yun, Viner’s global editorial director, walked the red carpet with top supermodel Xie Linchuan on her arm.

Her eyes and brows brimmed with warmth, and she glowed with every glance. The diamond-studded hem of her dress became a flowing Milky Way beneath the flashes. Beside her, the man was tall and handsome, elegant and distinguished, his gaze brimming with affection for her.

A sharp-eyed photographer noticed they wore matching plain rings on their fingers.
