The Mystery of the Human Emperor's Sword

The Human Emperor’s Sword, the fortunes of the human race, Di Xin, Su Daji, onmyoji, Abe no Seimei, Tamamo-no-Mae

This is a slow-burn story that doesn’t take too long to heat up.

A modern university student who is the reincarnation of Human Emperor Di Xin gets caught up in a struggle between Chinese mystics and Japanese onmyoji over the Human Emperor’s Sword while searching for his master after graduation. Along the way, he gains friends and a girlfriend. To protect China’s fortunes, he battles Japanese gangsters and onmyoji. At last, he awakens Di Xin’s soul and transforms into Di Xin, joining forces with his beloved, who has become Tamamo-no-Mae, to fight the corrupted Abe no Seimei.

After getting my fortune told, I became the last Human Emperor.

They said I was the reincarnation of the final Human Emperor, destined to protect the human race’s supreme treasure, the Human Emperor’s Sword.

I thought it was a joke, until Abe no Seimei crossed the sea, intent on stealing the fortunes of China.

Even more absurdly, his reason for stealing them was to... take Daji back?

I looked down at my sweet, bewildered girlfriend, the campus belle. She tilted her head and asked, “Di Tian, will you always stay by my side?”

“Mm.”

No, I’ve accepted that I have to protect China, but what’s this about fighting Japanese onmyoji over a woman?!
