On the Tianyuan Continent, spiritual cultivators cultivate spiritual power and wield spirit arts, and the strong rule. The continent is divided among many factions, the most powerful of which are the five sacred lands: Tianxuan Sect, Linghuan Valley, Wanyao Peak, Xingchen Hall, and Jianying Manor. They control abundant cultivation resources and have raised countless powerful cultivators. They compete with one another while maintaining a delicate balance. Beyond the continent lie mysterious extraterrestrial fiends, forever coveting Tianyuan's resources. They launch an invasion every so often.
