The Purple-Faced Heavenly King at the End of the Sui Dynasty

This is my first book, and even I can't bring myself to read it. I'll revise it when I have time.

When hunger reaches its peak, people eat one another. When it sinks into your bones, even your marrow gets drained dry.

In the chaotic final years of the Sui Dynasty, the Taihang Mountain bandit Xiong Kuohai kills an official in revenge and becomes an outlaw. During an ordinary robbery, he seizes a cache of weapons capable of shaking the realm, and unexpectedly gains a bizarre ability to suck out other people's bone marrow. From then on, his hunger no longer comes from his stomach, but from every bone in his body. Only the marrow of the strong can quell that bone-deep thirst.

From hardened bandit to walking skeleton, from feeding on defeated soldiers to devouring renowned generals, Xiong Kuohai's bones take on a strange purple-gold hue. He clashes with Yuwen Chengdu, the Heavenly Treasure General who bears the “Imperial Violet Qi,” and devours the power of Li Yuanba, Li Yuan's monstrous son with bones of astonishing strength. Food nourishes his flesh, while blood and marrow forge his undying skeleton.

In this lawless age where people devour one another, Xiong Kuohai makes his body a cauldron and tempers his bones into weapons. He traverses battlefields piled high with corpses and strides across the ruins of loyalty and order. When the fires of Wagang Stronghold and the royal aura of Luoyang stir the realm, everyone will learn that the hungry ghost who emerged from the Taihang Mountains intends to swallow the entire Sui Dynasty.

Bones for weapons, blood for fuel. The strong of the realm are all my sustenance.
