At the point where the timeline fractures connect, Wu Xie directs the game from behind the scenes, using “it” to sever a chain of cause and effect stretching back three thousand years. The bronze gate opens, and the one who devoured its master ends up imprisoned. The player turns the tables and seizes the lifeline, and the grand game burns to ashes.
