“The pay is two hundred dollars a day, paid daily. You can leave if you can’t keep going or simply don’t want to do it anymore. If that sounds acceptable, sign here.”

Dollars, two hundred, paid daily. Toyokawa Sakiko rubbed the bottom corner of the contract between her thumb and forefinger. She didn’t know what they wanted her to do, but she really needed money. The MyGO!!!!! project and her deadbeat dad’s enormous debt both demanded a whole lot of it.

The job description said she’d be told where to go after arriving. It was a little suspicious, but the pay was so good. Sakiko thought as her hand slowly reached for the black pen the other person held out. Maybe I’m worrying too much. It’s not like I’ll end up dead, right?
