Your City, My City tells the story of Li Xiang, a mid-level cadre at a state-owned enterprise. During the group's restructuring and transformation, he watches those around him exploit the reforms to engage in exchanges of power for power, power for money, and power for sex. The story follows his transformation from “Yi Xuexi” into “Hou Liangping,” and how he ultimately, without anyone knowing, steers the group's reforms in a different direction.
Through the experience of an ordinary man, Your City, My City portrays the struggles and convictions of a middle-aged man within the system. Those who work within the system or hope to join it are welcome to read.
