“What swallows darkness isn't necessarily salvation;
And what lays the light to rest isn't necessarily despair.”
A lone night walker against the light:
She lays the light to rest,
To grasp a sliver of hope.
The night grows deep.
The girl stands her ground, neither humble nor arrogant.
A gentle smile
Slowly spreads across her bloodstained face.
“Until then,
I won't give up.
I won't surrender.”
She turns her face away, her back against the window.
The moonlight glimmers, brightening her dim, clear eyes,
Like stars in the distance,
Slowly rising.
“I want the messengers who walk through the night
To live in the light and return home safe.”
