Forensic doctor Qin Zheng transmigrates into Su Ci, the daughter of an ancient-era coroner who was drowned to death. To investigate the wrongful case against her father, she disguises herself as a courtesan and musician, then joins forces with the Ninth Prince, Xie Wujiu, who appears to be a wastrel but secretly controls the black market intelligence network. As they solve cases, the two gradually discover that a series of murders is connected to the "Witchcraft Incident" from twenty years ago. Xie Wujiu turns out to be the orphaned son of the Crown Prince, who was supposed to have died during that coup.
