Heiress of a Wealthy Family ✘ Illegitimate Son of a Wealthy Family
"Shen Yan?" She frowned. "The illegitimate son of the Shen family?"
Lin Shuhua smiled. "That's right. He's also your arranged-marriage partner."
Gu Wantang's pupils contracted. "Uncle, has something happened to the family?"
Gu Zhenguo shook his head, his gaze complicated. "Wantang, you know that if it weren't him, it would be someone else. Shen Yan keeps a low profile and never fights for anything. He's the best choice I could make for you."
"The best choice?" She sneered. "An illegitimate son with no shares and no job?"
Gu Zhenguo coughed. "Wantang, he may have no money, but you do."
Gu Wantang was speechless. "Are you asking me to keep him, Uncle?"
Gu Zhenguo looked a little guilty. "Wantang, think about it. Someone like him will be easy to control, and you'll hold all the financial power."
After a long silence, she said, "Then... I agree."
