I Sell Tofu in Shuijian County

After leaving the military, veteran Li Yang moves to Shuijian County and falls in love with Zhang Mei, who runs a tofu shop. Hoping to settle down, they are instead hit by a flood that destroys the shop. Fortunately, help from all sides allows them to rebuild. By chance, Li Yang saves Peng Weiguo, who settles in Shuijian County with his wife. A screenplay written by his wife, Liu Hongmei, titled I Sell Tofu in Shuijian County, becomes the basis for a film. To get the movie made, Li Yang travels everywhere seeking investors and overcomes one obstacle after another, while incorporating cultural elements from several countries. At last, the film has a hugely successful global premiere. Li Yang and Zhang Mei also welcome a child together and begin a new chapter in life.
