The Charming Maiden Descends to Earth

Everyone says I am Heaven's favored daughter, blessed with the blood of gods and demons and cherished by nine elder brothers. I descended to the mortal realm just to enjoy a life of ease and endure a trial.

Little do they know that Heaven had long since locked my fate into a dead end.

My mother sacrificed every joy in her life to quell the war between gods and demons. My birth father rules the demon realm, cold and distant, incapable of showing me even the slightest warmth. The marriage pact everyone envies was never a blessed union, but an invisible cage meant to trap me.

I offered my sincerity in hopes of drawing closer, only to receive betrayal and scheming in return. My closest friend was bewitched by evil spirits and gradually drifted away. The one I loved repeatedly let me down, causing my spiritual power to plummet and leaving me to endure the immortal realm's ridicule.

At last, I understood: caring for someone is a weakness, and falling in love means letting others control you.

Break off the engagement, and heavenly punishment, exile, and ill-fated love will follow one after another. Endure in silence, and I will carry my wounds for life, my Daoist heart forever incomplete. This is a predicament with no solution.

In the depths of despair, I grasped the true meaning of supreme detachment. I severed every tangled attachment and cast aside everyone who had wronged or troubled me.

With my brothers and spirit pets, I ventured into the ancient Great Wilderness of the Classic of Mountains and Seas. Strange beasts lurked, Heaven's will struck in secret, and danger lay everywhere.

While others devote themselves to cultivating immortality, I will break the chains of fate.

So what if the shackles pile up, layer upon layer? So what if Heaven suppresses me?

I shed the guise of a favored daughter and crossed the perilous reaches of mountains and seas.

I seek no one's salvation, and I do not believe in fate's arrangements.

I will overcome every hardship myself, rise to the summit myself, and take control of my own life with my own hands.
