Hong Xiuquan was the leader of the peasant uprising in the late Qing Dynasty and the king of the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom. His life had a profound impact on modern Chinese history.
Establishment of the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom: On January 11, 1851, Hong Xiuquan led the Jintian Uprising, announced the establishment of the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom, and proclaimed himself the King of Heaven.
The Taiping Rebellion led by Hong Xiuquan lasted for 14 years. It developed into eighteen provinces and captured more than 600 cities. It dealt a heavy blow to Chinese and foreign reactionary forces and left a profound impact on the modern history of China.
