Frosty Snow's Last Embers

Lu Jinzhan is a stone-cold prince who carefully navigates the whirlpool of imperial power. A single assassination attempt tangles his fate with that of Shen Wenye, a hostage prince from an enemy kingdom. Shen Wenye bears the burden of a blood feud. Dressed in white, he stands in court, yet is willing to burn away the last shred of his pride for Lu Jinzhan.

Amid court intrigue and undercurrents in the martial world, they go from testing each other to entrusting each other with their hearts, from plotting against one another across a chessboard to protecting each other at the risk of their lives.

One breaks through the deadlock with his sword for the other; the other keeps his light burning with his life. But when the truth behind the schemes comes to light, the two of them turn out to be pieces on a chessboard, destined to kill each other.

“If this world has no place for us, then I’ll turn against it for you.”

“Lu Jinzhan, if you want this empire... I’ll stain the road to your throne red with my own hands.”
