In 2089, after the Third World War, Earth enters the "Great Ci'en Era." Human technology has advanced tremendously, but the human spirit has collapsed. Beneath the ruins of the Buddhist holy site of Da Ci'en Temple lies the "Eight Consciousness Sea," a device capable of triggering resonance between parallel universes. Yun Hai, a Shaolin monk, transmigrates to a holographic Chang'an City after being struck by lightning. He discovers that this virtual metropolis is a quantum sandbox built by eminent monks using Buddhist teachings, and that his martial soul mark is quantum-entangled with the "Light of Wisdom" that appeared when the Buddha entered nirvana three thousand years ago.
