Fleeing Famine With My Whole Family

In an age of chaos, Song Fusheng led more than twenty fellow villagers on a desperate flight. They crossed the wilderness and outsmarted bandits, relying on the survival wisdom imparted by Old Wu and Fuling’s quick wits to find a way forward in dire straits. From surviving in a canyon to dealing with the Salt Gang, and then establishing themselves by the sea, this group of refugees put their skills in blacksmithing, oyster cooking, carpentry, and more to use as they put down roots on an unfamiliar shore. The story portrays the struggle of human nature and the wisdom of survival in troubled times, with both the heartfelt bonds forged through shared hardship and the schemes driven by self-interest. In the end, they realize that true security comes not from relying on others, but from their own hands and the strength of unity. This is a historical survival saga about overcoming adversity and making a life for yourself.
