Slay the Gods: Learning to Raise Gods at the Orphanage

[Great Xia’s gods + nurturing gods + conflict between Chinese and foreign gods + lighthearted daily life + sweet romance with no angst]

(A derivative of Slay the Gods, with a brand-new story)

When the gods divided the world with holy fire; when Odin’s thunder cracked the sky above New York; when Cthulhu’s unknowable presence began to corrupt the land and sea, I knew the Age of Mist had quietly begun.

Zhao Xuanyi sat on a stool, looking at the bitter-faced little boy sitting at a desk nearby. He tapped the tabletop with his fingers.

“Little Emperor of Fengdu, can you just do your work?”

“If you keep slacking off and fail to get into a good divine position, your life will be over,” Zhao Xuanyi said sternly.

The Little Emperor of Fengdu pouted, tears in his eyes, and stubbornly kept working on the Five Years to Divinity, Three Years of Practice Problems workbook trapped beneath his arm. The words “Great Xia Gods Reemployment Training Textbook” on the cover gleamed in the light.

Zhao Xuanyi sighed, shook his head, and walked out the front door. A magnificent building came into full view behind him.

“Gods’ Orphanage!”
