In 1980, Hong Kong is in the grip of rampaging evil spirits. Ordinary lives flicker like candles in the wind, and the underworld is nowhere to be found. Li Changfeng unexpectedly receives a gift from his home planet: extraordinary comprehension. With this talent, he perfects the methods of divine and immortal cultivation and, in this land forsaken by the gods, carves out an underworld from nothing, restoring peace and order to the world.
Moved by compassion as he watches mortals worship the gods, Li Changfeng creates a cultivation method for the ghost path. He devours books and studies ancient texts, then establishes the righteous immortal path. Reading the Book of Changes and contemplating its transformations, he comprehends the Seventy-Two Earthly Transformations. Watching the sun rise inspires him to create the Samadhi True Fire. Seeing thunder crash down from the heavens leads him to invent the Five Thunder Righteous Art. Through these astounding creations, Li Changfeng becomes a legendary figure who changes Hong Kong’s fate and stands against the evil spirits. On this land beset by danger, he begins a cultivation legend that shakes heaven and earth.
