Love Is the Light in the Abyss

Ji Chushuang: People who lack confidence don't dare to love.

Fan Qi: People who take the initiative aren't loved in return.

Ji Chushuang and Fan Qi met at university, where they also became strangers who never spoke to each other again.

People can change, but love cannot.

When they meet again after years apart, Fan Qi still can't help drawing close to her. He stays at the hotel where she works, opens the restaurant Yue He to make her wish of enjoying the scenery come true, and regrets all the more that he didn't love her sooner after learning about the hurt she suffered as a child.

Ji Chushuang knows Fan Qi loves her, but for the sake of the little self-respect she has left, she turns him down again and again. Yet as more and more love comes her way, she can't help falling for him.

Ji Chushuang: Insecurity is like an abyss, dark and damp, with no visible bottom.

Fan Qi: Love is the light in the abyss. With enough light, you can see everything inside.
