Pokemon: I Became a Legend After Failing to Catch a Bug

This world has an unspoken rule: Trainers without a Starter Pokemon might not even qualify to be Bug Catchers.

That is, until Xu An risked his life catching Bug-type Pokemon, stumbled upon a Team Rocket cage, and met a pair of stubborn blue eyes...

"You want to catch me?" Riolu's aura trembled. "Human, are you sure you want to take on the entire Kanto underworld?" (Just kidding.)

Xu An transmigrated to a world full of magical Pokemon, also known as the Pokemon world.

Is this the Pokemon anime? No. The Pokemon manga? Also no.

--

Perhaps it's simply a world Xu An knows a little about.

A Pokemon fan, Xu An sets out on his journey as a Trainer after failing at bug catching...

--

Years later, Red, Ash, and the others say, "That was a legendary Trainer..."

No innate talents. Abilities aren't tied to special powers, but vary according to personality. Levels are only used to judge evolution and provide a rough measure of strength.

(Some thoughts on the Pokemon world, with a little from the manga and anime mixed in.)

Please give this new book a look, and feel free to point out anything lacking. (´▽`)ノ♪
