The great-power rivalries, dynastic changes, international relations, economic booms and busts, and climate shifts on Earth have all been deliberately manipulated by aliens. They see the Milky Way as an aquarium for their amusement, and Earth in the solar system is merely a fish tank they happen to cherish. I aligned the calendar with the Gregorian calendar; forcefully reclaimed all land for the state; established a national bank and issued a new currency; and championed equality between men and women… Wang Mang Number One’s reforms went too far for the realities of society, and, combined with natural disasters, plunged the country into chaos. That was why Wang Mang Number One was overthrown.
